From 2017 – 2019 I helped create a custom live visual show for ODESZA’s A Moment Apart Tour. The tour used a large scale video wall, custom mapped video risers, and multi-layered lighting as part of the 90-minute timecoded show. In 2018 the set was adapted for ODESZA’s 2018 Coachella main stage performance, which was regarded as “one of the most-sought after festival acts in music" by Idolator, “jaw-dropping" by The Independent, and as a show that "will most definitely go down in Coachella history" by EDM.com.

CONCEPT
The A Moment Apart Tour utilized a combination of practical assets and 3D animation to illustrate the cosmonaut’s journey through space as he visited different 28 different worlds. The goal was to capture the mood and cadence of each chapter in the form of a cohesive stage presence that could be scaled from both sold-out arenas to intimate club settings.

ICOSAHEDRON
The show involved heavy use of set extensions to make the performance feel larger-than-life. Custom risers were used to support the band, drum line, and guest vocalists. The animations were designed so that they could be quickly and easily reformatted as the stage designs changed across different legs of the tour. An automated floating hexagon housed both animations as well as IMAG feed.
